A patent created by Mr Miyamoto has been discovered, unboxed and exposed. Within the patent is a lot of boring technical jargon that would only interest an accountant. Within its deeper layers however are details of a possible Zelda title. The patent seems to indicate that this proposed Zelda game will offer hints via a less than subtle hint icon on the screen (a role usually performed by a fairy, cat, boat or hat). It also seems to suggest that sections of the game can be skipped if things get rather difficult, much like Ataris latest Alone in the Dark game.

Patents are fickle things however as they represent only ideas. Ideas can be dropped, ditched and forgotten at any time. The only thing this patent truly confirms is that at some point Nintendo was considering this prospect for the next Zelda instalment. Whether they are still acting on it…is all speculation.
