The Wall Street Journal this morning is reporting that Netflix is developing a live action TV series based on the Legend of Zelda video games.

The site reports that the show is in the early stages and doesn’t even have a writer attached yet. It is said that Netflix are trying to make the show ‘Game of Thrones’ for a family audience according to the Wall Street Journal’s source.

The report also states that Netflix is working closely with Nintendo (obviously), but doesn’t mention many more details than this.

This isn’t the first time a Nintendo game has been adapted to the screen, but we all remember how that turned out. Everyone attached to that project was left with a sour taste, including Nintendo who if you haven’t noticed have tried to make anything again.

The Wall Street Journal is usually pretty good with these sorts of stories, but it is possible Netflix or Nintendo could pull out at anytime.

Do you want to see a Legend of Zelda TV series? Would Link talk? Let us know what you think in the comments!
