Rumour: Development nicknames of playable Toads in NSMBWii revealed
No longer just generic helpers, we now have some evidence of great internal names for the Toads; Ala-Gold and Bucken-Berry
The two Toads in New Super Mario Bros. Wii havent had the best of receptions, due to their nameless nature and the occasional trouble of distinguishing between the two—which we highlighted in our review of the game—but we might finally have something to address at least one of those problems.
While at a launch event for the game in the US, one of the guys at Destructoid was chatting to a Nintendo rep, and the conversation eventually turned to the Toads. The rep let slip that the development team had nicknames, though unofficial, for the characters, and proceeded to whisper the names. "The yellow one is called Ala-Gold," he said, "and the blue one is named Bucken-Berry."
So, there you have it. While these may not be true, theyre still awesome names. If youve come up with some neat titles for the Toads, be sure to share them with everyone in the comments section below.
