At least one football code thats not Soccer will be getting a game on the Wii that of course is Rugby League

Developer Sidhe and publisher Home Entertainment Suppliers (you may know them simply as HES) have announced that they’ll be bringing Rubgy League 3 to the Wii. “We are extremely pleased to be publishing a new Rugby League title with such fresh features, content, and innovations across the board,” said David Robles, Business Development Manager for HES. “Rugby League 3 is a significant and worthy addition to the franchise”.

The game will feature 80+ teams from the NRL, Super League, Toyota Cup, UK Championship, UK Championship 1, State of Origin, City v Country to name a few. 38 stadiums from around Australia, News Zealand, France and the United Kingdom .

The game will have Wii Remote controls naturally, however exactly how they’ll be used remains to be seen. To add to the authenticty the game will have “broadcast style presentation” with commentary from Channel Nine’s Andrew Voss.

Rugby League 3 is out before the years out and will be released in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and France. So a Rugby game finally for the Wii, what’s next? AFL? That could never happen right?
