Roundup of News from Nintendo Meeting
Nintendo Japan has held a meeting today touching on many things, below is a summary of the meeting. In the meeting Nintendo spoke about the Wii date and price which we reported early but also had a fair few things to say about the DS.
Amount of games (in %) owned by Japanese DS Owners
32% of Japanese DS owners own Animal Crossing World
23% of Japanese DS owners own Mario Kart DS
14% of Japanese DS owners own Tetris DS
20% of Japanese DS owners own New Super Mario Bros
The Touch Generation series of games (Brain Training, Sudoku, Magnetica, Nintendogs) will continue with a balance of these casual orientated games and “”normal”” games, with users of the Touch Generations games moving from the more casual games onto more hardcore games later on.
Also covered for DS was the fact that 10 DS titles have shipped over a million copies, which to say is very impressive. Opera Web Browser for the Nintendo DS has been delayed a month and now will be coming out in July, the OneSeg TV Tuner will go on sale later on in the at approximately half the price of a Nintendo DS (8400yen, $100AU dollars)
And one last tasty piece of news is that Pokemon will have World Wide Voice chat, what other online features such as battles and trades still remain up in the air.
