The Nintendo 3DS is quite a powerhouse and is blurring the line between a portable and a home console experience, says producer Masachika Kawata
Mr. Kawata has told Eurogamer that Mercenaries 3D will re-use some of the in-game assets found in the home console games.
He said the team was focused on trying to push the 3DS to see how much they could get out of it, and it certainly shows. Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is clearly the best looking 3DS game seen thus far. The game has such things as dynamic lighting and sharp looking textures and player models.
It will be interesting to see how easy it is for developers to port home console content to the 3DS in the future. Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D has been dated in Japan for June 2. There is no word yet on an Australian release.
