Alongside Gamestop, our own Electronics Boutique has bumped up the price of Resident Evil: Revelations by ten dollars, asking for around $80. The company has said that the price increase is justified, as the game contains "20 hours of gameplay" and "lovingly rendered cutscenes," making it "a true console experience". Which might be a fair point, as the price of producing console games of any quality level has risen dramatically over the last half decade and its possible well see the same happening in the portable space. Also, the company explained that with all those cutscenes, the game needs to rest on a 4GB cart, which supposedly makes up most of the increase.
While I hope that this price wont become the new standard, at least were not paying the usual Australia tax on the increase. A $10USD increase translating into only a $10 real dollar increase is something I could get used to.
