The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Nintendo has delayed the roll-out of 64GB capacity game cards for the Nintendo Switch. They were originally due to arrive at the end of 2018, but if the report is correct this won’t be happening.
At the moment game developers can order and put their game on a Switch game card anything up until 32GB in size. There are smaller cards and they’re a lot cheaper, that’s why we’re seeing games split on the card and then we download the rest.
This move could cause publishers, especially ones who make gigantic games a moment to pause, however, we’re already seeing the likes of LA Noire, WWE 2K18, and others require a download on even the small cards.
