Reminder: Vote in the 2009 Vooks Awards, win stuff

Its that time of year again, well be voting and we want you to vote too. Who will the Game of the Year award go to? Oh, were giving away stuff as well

As 2009 comes to a close, it’s time to take stock of the year and give out awards for the best, most surprising, and disappointing games of the year. There are plenty of fun categories to vote in as well.

Along with our winners, a readers choice award will be given out for each category, but it’ll be you who wins. We have one copy of New Super Mario Bros. Wii to give away, and for three others there are three figures (one each) from the Super Mario figure collection. These are Series 1 figures which are no longer available for sale!

Voting is simple: you’ll need a forum account, and you’ll need to list from 5-1 (5 being best) your choices in the following categories;

Best Soundtrack
Biggest Surprise
Best Moment
Biggest Disappointment
Best Third Party Developer or Publisher
Best Non-Nintendo Game
Best New IP

Best WiiWare Game
Best DSiWare Game
Best Nintendo DS Game (Retail)
Best Wii Game (Retail)

Game of the Year (and why)

To be eligible for the main prize, you’ll need to submit a short reason along with your GOTY vote. It doesn’t have to be long, but we want to know why you have picked it, and the winner’s reason will be included in the article.

If you can’t think of 5 for each, just list what you can starting from 5 downwards. The forum thread will have all you need to know, including a sample vote. Voting for the readers award ends January 8th, so get in quickly! We (the Vooks staff) will be compiling our best as well, and winners of the competition will be revealed along with the article. So…

– This competition commences immediately, and will conclude on the 8th of JANUARY 2010. One entry is allowed per person. One main prize winner and three (3) runners up will be chosen. The person with the best contribution from their vote will be awarded the game. Runners up will be chosen from all those who have voted and three will recieve one figure tin set each.

– The competition is open to all residents of Australia and New Zealand except where prohibited by local law. You must be a member and have an active user name on the forum. The winner will be messaged on the forums if they have won. Winners have 90 days to claim prizes or they’ll be reused at a later time.

– Vooks staff members (past and present) are ineligible to win. Vooks is not responsible for lost or damaged mail and the prizes are not redeemable for cash.

– We reserve the right to substitute any of the prizes but will always do so for a prize of equal value. Vooks reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of this competition at any time.
