Reggie explains Nintendo’s no show at this year’s E3

He’s confident, and he’s excited!

Nintendo of America’s president has explained why Nintendo is keeping a low profile at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.

According to Reggie Fils-Aime, the company just wanted to try something new.

“We are always looking at new ways to amuse and delight… it’ll be different, and it’ll be better,” he said.

Rather than going to a show and presenting at a press conference, Nintendo will release videos on the internet instead. After a video showing what users can expect to see from Nintendo’s systems, more will follow – including developer interviews, Wii U video recaps and game trailers.

The US president ensures Nintendo will be all over Facebook, Youtube and Twitter during the event and will issue messages from these websites directly to its fans. People who live in the US will also be able to head to their nearest Best Buy stores and try out Nintendo’s latest game offerings.

Stay tuned for later tonight when Vooks will be live blogging the event direct from the 2013 E3 Expo, and then playing all the games revealed.

I’ve been writing about video games since 2006 and playing them since I was a kid. I started out with a copy of Mario & Yoshi on the Game Boy and before I knew it was in debt to Tom Nook. These days I spend much of my time trawling the eShop for the latest downloadable hit.
