Vandenberghe has just had a lengthy interview with the guys at ComputerAndVideoGames.com. Its a good read, but for those a little lazy weve included some of the more interesting bits.
"I think weve got a great chance of bringing people back to Wii," Vandenberghe feels. "If you havent played on your Wii for a while weve got the game for you."
He went on to comment, in quite a comic way, on the recent core-focused games seeing Wii releases.
"Personally, I call this the great hardcore Wii Jihad," he said. "I dont really care about the religious war! Some developers who are making hardcore games for the Wii made a big deal about the separation of church and state, saying (puts on deep voice) theres hardcore and theres family friendly.
"F*** those guys! I dont feel that way. I think there are gamers and there are gamers of different opinions and different tastes so the goal was to create games that gamers want and to see how many people like it."
MadWorld is a game he felt was unpopular by design, saying "if you make an ultra violent game where youre shoving signposts through peoples heads as a core mechanic… youre cutting out 90% of your sales because that offends 90% of gamers."
Red Steel 2 launches here on March 25th, which is only about a month away. Heres hoping all the delay has been worth it.
