Nintendo Australia has finally confirmed this morning that Australia will be getting the red Mario 25th Anniversary Wii. The Australian version of this limited edition package will contain the red Wii, a Wii Remote Plus (in red), a red Nunchuck, plus a copy of Wii Sports Resort as usual, and also a copy of New Super Mario Bros. Wii. But wait, there’s more! Australia will be the only region outside Japan to get the 25th Anniversary Super Mario Bros. NES game which replaces the original question mark blocks with a "25". A very cool bonus for Aussies as Europe and America don’t get it!
In addition to the new red Wii pack, there are two more packs on the way from Nintendo this holiday season. A "Mario Kart Wii Pack" will contain the updated Wii package (with the new Wii Remote Plus) and also a copy of Mario Kart Wii, a Wii Wheel and again the 25th Anniversary Super Mario Bros. NES game.
If you’re yet to pick up a Nintendo DSi, Nintendo has something new for you too. They’re bundling a copy of Mario Kart DS with every DSi for a limited time.
So what will it all cost you? The red Wii/New Super Mario Bros. Wii Pack and the Mario Kart Wii Pack will cost only $299.95, or $395.00 for our NZ cousins. The Nintendo DSi with bonus Mario Kart DS will retail for the standard DSi price of $249, or $329 for New Zealand. The Wiis will be available from November 11 while the DSi bundle starts next week on the 4th.
No sign yet of the Super Mario All Stars collection at this stage outside the Australian Classification listing.
