Rayman isn’t in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, faker outs himself
If something sounds too good to be true, then it usually is. Footage was released over the weekend in a ‘leaked’ style that allegedly showed Ubisoft’s Rayman as a selectable character in the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. It was presumed that he would be a downloadable character just like Mewtwo is (or eventually will be).
But alas the footage is fake with the creator of the fake Artsy Omni outing himself in really detailed video on just how the fake was made. The entire Super Smash Bros. for Wii U character select screen was recreated in After Effects to achieve the fake and then posted on YouTube. There’s even a fair amount of work just to fake Mewtwo in there as well. The video then was removed to make it all seem even more believable. This isn’t a simple Photoshop job, there’s hours of work here.
A website even asked Ubisoft for a comment but they declined saying they would comment on Tuesday, the day of Nintendo’s delayed investors briefing further fuelling the fire.
We’ve included Artsy Omni’s video below as well as the fakes. Bravo sir, this is one of the best fakes we’ve seen in a long time.
Just like when the faker who made the 5th gen final starter evolutions outed himself 😉
