Rabbids playable in Ubisofts TMNT Smash-up
Raymans raving adversaries- the Rabbids- will be appearing alongside the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Ubisofts upcoming brawl-like fighting game
The Rabbids were spotted in the game at a recent video game exhibition in Japan.
It was already known that other Ubisoft characters, such as Splinter Cell’s stealthy Sam Fisher were to appear as unlockable characters in the game.
A Rabbid can be seen in footage taken of the character selection screen here:
The Rabbids have proved to be one of Ubisoft’s most successful new characters this generation- first appearing in Wii launch title ’Rayman Raving Rabbids’. They have since appeared in two more Wii games- Raving Rabbids 2 and Raving Rabbids TV party; with a fourth all-new Rabbids-only adventure titled ’Rabbids Go Home’ in preparation for release later this year.
TMNT: Smash Up is in development by Japanese development team ‘Gamearts’ – the very same team responsible for Nintendo-published super-favourite ‘Super Smash Bros. Brawl’. The new fighter will build upon similar fighting mechanics in Brawl in bringing the Turtles face-to-face with each other as well their infamous opponents Shredder and the Foot Ninjas.
The game is anticipated for a late 2009 release in Australia, just in time for Christmas.
