With the launch of the new DSi Ware service comes a new 200 Nintendo point price point. You would be safe to assume that the games that are priced at 200 point will be short and simple, and they are, but out of the two 200 point launch games, Pyoro proves to be the one that is the better value.

For 200 points you’d better forget about an in-depth story or characters. Pyoro is not only the name of the game, but also the name of the game’s protagonist. He is a bird-like creature who loves his beans and the objective of the game is to snap up as many as possible.

Pyoro features two modes, Pyoro 1 and Pyoro 2. Pyoro 1 puts you in control of a red version of Pyoro and, as beans falls from the sky, you’ll have to use his super long tongue to grab as many of these beans as you can. Pyoro’s tongue only moves diagonally or upwards, which is useful because the higher the beans are the more points you can get. Also, the closer the beans are to the floor the harder they are to nab, and once they hit the floor the tile disappears. This means Pyoro can’t easily manoeuvre and the game gets more frantic. In Pyoro 2 (the “second” game in the pack), you control a yellow version of Pyoro who hates beans. It’s your duty to shoot out pellets to destroy the beans before they hit the ground. But this time it’s not just about how many you can destroy, there is a combo system which multiplies your score. Both games end when your Pyoro gets knocked on the head.

While the game is really simple, it is a ton of fun to play and for only 200 points you can’t really go wrong. If you have WarioWare though, check out your cart (not in your DSi obviously) as Pyoro and Paper Plane are on that cart.
