Project Sora disbanded and closed

The development team of Kid Icarus Uprising, Project Sora has been closed. The teams website has message up saying as such and that the website will close on July 31st. So what happened?

Project Sora was formed by Nintendo and Masahiro Sakura’s own Sora Studio, the whole purpose of the company was develop Kid Icarus Uprising but it was believed that more games would be coming from the team, it’s unclear as to why the company has closed with the message on the site not providing any information.

Fear not though as Sora, the main studio is still around however as we know Namco Bandai will be developing Super Smash Bros on the Wii U and 3DS.

Whatever happened, hopefully it’ll all come out in the future.

Even though they said a Kid Icarus 3DS sequel was unlikely (from them) there was a little hope – that game was all types of brilliant – now there’s no hope at all.

It would’ve been interesting to see what else they could possibly do given how good Uprising was but alas we shall never know.

Yea, definitely, that game was just so awesome, I was glued to it for days. One of the best 3DS experiences available. But now we have Super Smash Bros. Title to look forward too.

From what I’ve read, this was just a normal step. The “Project” was only put together for Kid Icarus. Now that it is complete and done, the “Project” is no longer needed.
