Feel the hankering for poppin some bubbles? Well arm your stylus because the handheld iteration of the popular WiiWare game, Pop, comes to the DSi Shop this week

Brought to you by Australian developer, Nnooo, Pop+ Solo involves the player bursting flows of gradually growing bubbles to score points against the time limit. Chaining together bubbles of the same colour triggers power-ups and gains bonus points, adding more time to the clock.

"Pop+ Solo features eight main modes, each of which are unlocked as the player collects more badges or progresses through each mode." says Nic Watt, Creative Director at Nnooo. "We think users will be really excited with all the new content we have added."

What exactly is this new content, you ask? Expect new Adventure, Challenges, Timed and Bonus modes in addition to the Training, Normal, Advanced and hypnotic Chill modes carried over from the popular WiiWare version.

In a series first, Adventure mode introduces four boss battles as well as mines which detonate after a countdown to set off a chain reaction; jets of water which push the bubbles about and golden fish which the player can pop for loads of points.

Challenge mode gives players the freedom to choose a mode and wave and then set a score and time threshold to test or practice their skills on. Timed mode tasks the player with trying to progress as far and score as high as possible within the set time limit. Bonus mode allows players to take on each bonus round in a series of progressively more difficult rounds.

Players looking for a unique (and addictive) gaming experience will find that Pop+ Solo delivers exactly that. The title is slated for release on August 23 and will set you back a mere 500 points, it is well worth the price.
