In the first 48 hours on sale, Heart Gold and Soul Silver sold 1,408,980 copies. That’s around eight copies per second all around Japan. If that doesn’t blow your mind, keep in mind that the games sold out at several places across the country, so demand is extraordinarily higher than those figures show.
Those who have missed out on the initial shipment will have to wait for Nintendo to replenish their stock, which has not, as yet, been given an ETA.
Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver are remakes of Pokémon Gold and Silver on the Game Boy Color, which sold 23 million copies worldwide. The games will be available in Australia in Autumn of 2010.
