Well that's disappointing.

Tonight’s Pokemon announcement was said to be shocking and indeed it is. The streaming event revealed the long teases Pokemon fighting game, Pokkén Tournament.

The game will be coming to Arcades in 2015 and eventually consoles. Seeing as arcades basically don’t exist outside of Japan as a viable business model this is to be expected. The game is in development by the same team responsible for Tekken at Bandai Namco and Nintendo.

Only a few seconds of the game were shown with a Lucario and Machamp duking it out. We’ve included the official trailer below, it was tweeted by the Pokemon Company and is in English so we can safely assume the game will come to the west at some point.

The official site for the game has been launched.
