Pokemon X and Y has gone on sale in Australia as midnight passes and October 12th is here. Australia is the second country in the world to get the game and now a long 24 hours begins as the rest of the world catches up.

Lines were the biggest in Melbourne where at 9pm, three hours before launch there were already around 300 people in line. The line then grew from there down nearly a whole city block, we’ll attempt to get final numbers in the morning. According to those at the event there was even more people than at the GTAV launch.

Pokemon X and Y is now available on the eShop to purchase and unless you’re already at a midnight launch you’ll have to wait until morning to buy the game. For you’re keen for a bargain, check out our bargain guide.

Did you go to a midnight launch? Tell us how yours went.
