To pass time between now and the release of Pokémon X & Y we have here some screenshots of two new fossil evolutions.

First up is Aurorus a Rock / Ice type Pokémon. This majestic looking creature is the evolution of sail fossil Pokémon Amura and has the ability to refrigerate.

According to the official description, Aurorus is able to expel air as cold as – 240 degrees Fahrenheit to damage enemies and form a wall of ice as protection. Packing a punch is its move Freeze-Dry, which is Super-Effective against Water types.

The evolution of the jaw fossil Pokémon Tyrunt is a Rock / Dragon type ‘mon known as Tyrantrum. Tyrantrum has the ability of Strong Jaw, the move Head Smash, and reportedly reigned over 100 million years ago as king.

So, what do you think of these two new fossil evolutions? How do they compare to other Pokémon revealed for X & Y so far, and most importantly, what do you think of them compared to existing fossil evolutions?

I’ve been writing about video games since 2006 and playing them since I was a kid. I started out with a copy of Mario & Yoshi on the Game Boy and before I knew it was in debt to Tom Nook. These days I spend much of my time trawling the eShop for the latest downloadable hit.
