They're also going to be release three weeks earlier than the games.
Tonight’s Pokémon Direct was, as you’d expect, all things Pokémon! But we also had a rather surprising announcement that the limited edition 3DS XL consoles, emblazoned with the brand new legendary Pokémon from Pokémon X & Y, will be arriving in the consumers hands earlier than we thought!
Previously (assumed) to be launching with the release of Pokémon X & Y in October, both the Blue and Red special editions of the consoles will now be hitting American and European shores on September 27th. That’s roughly three weeks prior to the game’s launch on October 12th.
Nintendo has confirmed at least in Europe and America these consoles will not come with a copy of the game.
We don’t have details nor confirmation of the consoles being released in Australia just yet, but we’ve contacted Nintendo Australia for comment. Once we know, you’ll know.
Update: The consoles ARE coming to Australia, get all the details.
Makes sense to us.
It's Black, Back Again.
If these aren't the coolest graphics...
