The third best selling 3DS game already too.
Nintendo has confirmed that Pokémon Sun and Moon have now sold 14.69 million units worldwide. It now makes the game instantly third best selling 3DS game only behind Pokémon X and Pokémon Y (16.06m) and just behind Mario Kart 7 (14.82).
The game in just two months instantly jumped over both Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire versions (13.68m units).
In fact Sun and Moon could have had an even bigger gap over the old titles if they hadn’t sold so well. Thanks to the hype from Pokemon Go both X/Y and Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were up on the year before. X/Y were almost up three quarters of a million units over the year before. Amazing.
Pokémon Sun and Moon is now also the fastest selling Nintendo game ever.
