Pokémon Sun and Moon only features 3D during Pokémon Snap-like Finder mode

Oh well.

Yesterday a whole swarm of European media published their first impressions of Pokemon Sun and Moon from a media event earlier in the month. It’s coming along well it seems – but there’s one thing that sticks out.

The game will now be entirely devoid of the stereoscopic 3D that the Nintendo 3DS offers, apart from one mode. Poké Snap Finder.

This now means that, like Pokemon X/Y and Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire the game won’t be in 3D in the over-world and now it won’t be in 3D in battles either. This is likely due to the fact that the game run like crap with 3D on anyway, and removing it frees up the system to do other things like include trainers and NPCs in battle.

Did you battle with 3D one? Will you miss it? Let us know in the comments.
