Pokémon Shuffle headed to iOS and Android later this year

The Pokemon Company has announced that Pokémon Shuffle is headed mobile with a release coming to iOS and Android devices later this year.
This isn’t the first time Pokemon has been seen on mobile platforms, there of course is the Pokemon Trading Card game app and even just this week there was a second Pokemon rhythm game announced for Japan. Pokemon Shuffle should work exactly as the Nintendo 3DS eShop version does and will be made available for free with in-app purchases.
While the Pokemon IP is owned part owned by Nintendo and they also co-published the game on the 3DS this can’t technically be considered ‘Nintendo’s first mobile game’ – you’ll just have to wait a little while longer for whatever that turns out to be.

Oof. If mobile users go into the same pool as 3DS users for the contests, it’s probably going to take them a few tries to get the prize threshold right.
Still, I know people who don’t have a 3DS but have expressed interest in the game, so that should be good.
