Pokemon Let’s Go has an incredible first week on sale
People around the world have been enjoying Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee, with the Pokemon Company announcing that the two titles combined, sold 3 million copies in its first week around the world.
While Japan has seen a crazy amount of hype around the games, with some retailers going out of stock on Switch hardware in the country, people just love their Pokemon. Early reports have the two games combined selling around 600,000 copies. Countries like Spain might have sold less, around 64,000 in its first week, but it still took the number one spot that week.
In the UK, the games on their own launched at number 4 for Pikachu and 6 for Eevee, combined though, they took the top spot. Such is the power of Pokemon that other Switch games have increased their sales, thanks to more people buying a Switch. Games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe saw an increase of sales of around 94%, which let the game take number 9 on the charts, which is not bad for a 18 month old game.
Even locally, things have been great for the games, with the launching at 3 and 4 in Australia, which was enough to push Red Dead Redemption 2 down a few spots and 4 and 5 for New Zealand, after only 3 days on sale.
So while the game might not be the mainline that people wanted, it appears that the game is selling well regardless.

It might not be the mainline game we wanted, but we certainly needed it.
