Earlier today The Pokemon Company announced it would be making some big announcements to its business strategy, Pokemon Go is that first step.

Pokemon Go is an AR (augmented reality) smartphone game for both iOS and Android. It’s being developed in conjunction with Niantic. They’ve previously worked with Google to create the game Ingress.

The game will use your location and camera to recreate Pokemon gameplay in real life. Basically you can now see, catch and battle Pokemon in real life. There’s even a Pokemon Go Wrist Accessory that sends you notifications when there’s another trainer around or a Pokemon. Yunichi Masuda is working on the project and should compliment and interact with the main game series.

The game, like many other mobile games will be free to play with transactions. The wrist accessory will be sold separate and is optional. There’s a huge trailer showing off the game included below.

So then, hunting for Pokemon in the real world, What do you think?
