Pokémon Go’s latest update prepares for Generation 3 Pokémon

The latest update to Pokémon Go has been distributed and data miners have already picked it clean. The third generation of Pokemon has been added to the game’s code.

The 135 new species of Pokémon from the Hoenn region have been added to the game, they’ll still need their cries and any specific generation three moves before they’re ready but the groundwork has been laid.

There are other changes like a Super Incubator in the code and a tonne of other fixes to the gym raid system as well.

Don’t hold your breath, however, it took a couple of months for Generation 2 Pokémon to be released once they were added to the code. You’ll just have to wait to get your hands on a Mudkip. We heard you like them.
