Niantic have announced that in 2020, Pokemon Go players will be able to take part in the new GO Battle League, which will pit them, against other real world players, for the first time.
In order to gain entry, you will need to walk around some, as walking is how you can prove your worth, plus while you do that, you can capture new Pokemon you come across.
Once a trainer has entered the GO Battle League, the system will matchmake them with other players from around the world and wins will see you rise up the ranks of the league.
Sadly, the new mode is still in development, so there is nothing in the way of screens or video, but they have promised a new developer insights video will be released, that will focus on it some more.
