Chicago, Yokohama and some places in random shops in Europe taking part.
Believe it or not but it’s almost the first anniversary of the release of Pokémon Go and Niantic are celebrating.
There’s a number of different things happening both inside the game but also a number of events in different countries. None of which are Australia.
The Pokémon Go Fest is taking place in Chicago on July 22nd. Tickets (yeah tickets) will go on sale on July 19th. For those outside Chicago, there will be a number of other events are happening in other countries. In Europe there will be Pokémon GO events at Unibail-Rodamco shopping centres and Japan will get a “Pikachu Outbreak” event for in Yokohama this August.
Don’t live in those three places? Lucky for you there will also be an in-game event. The Solstice Event will run from June 13th to June 20th and its based around Fire and Ice-type Pokémon.
During this time Pokémon like Cyndaquil, Charmander, Houndour, Swinub and Sneasel will appear more ofter. You’ll get more XP from catching Pokémon as well if you pull off well timed or curved Pokéeball throws. Lucky Eggs will also be 50% off in the store as well.
While it won’t happen during this event, soon after Gyms will also be disabled to allow work to happen on ‘collaborative gameplay features’.
Hopefully, Legendary Pokémon aren’t going to be locked behind these paid events.
Makes sense to us.
It's Black, Back Again.
If these aren't the coolest graphics...
