Pokemon Black and White, the latest game in the monstrously popular Pokemon franchise, has been crowned a perfect 40/40 from Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, becoming the first Pokemon game to achieve that score. For those unaware, Famitsu is one of the most read and highly respected game magazines in Japan.
Only 15 games have ever scored a perfect Platinum (40/40) score, although recently more and more games have been awarded the coveted score and the magazine has been accused of giving higher scores to games that the magazine advertises in its pages or are highly anticipated. Only two DS games before Black and White (Dragon Quest IX and nintendogs) have scored a 40/40 in their reviews, so this is still a pretty big deal.
Pokemon Black and White promises to finally shake up the tried and true Pokemon formula and is set for a Spring 2011 release date over here. Wellfind out then if this really is the best Pokemon game ever, or just a victim of increasing anticipation.
