Nintendo has seen fit to update the free Pokédex 3D app this week, adding a few features here and there to the creature encyclopædia.
Minor additions allow the viewer to ‘freeze’ the Pokémon model in order to observe it better, and tap a button to hear its cry. The models are also accessible within the AR Viewer, with two different modes; Model (allowing resizing) and Scale (resizing the models in proportion to other Pokémon) Modes. Background settings allow the user to incorporate photos from the SD card.
These features were previously unlocked through by scanning Pokémon AR markers, but Nintendo has relented and allowed mere humans to access the content as well. Simply go to the Setting options in the app and select Update from the menu to unlock the new features.
