Ahh Pocket Rumble. It was one of the games showed off in the very first Nindies Showcase early last year, but it’s still nowhere to be seen. That could change very soon.

Cardboard Robot Games have announced via a Kickstarter update that Pocket Rumble, the retro-styled 2D fighting game, is finally done, and will be releasing on Switch before the end of July:

The short version is that the Nintendo Switch port of Pocket Rumble is done and will be releasing sometime between now and the end of July! We’re currently still in the process of selecting an exact release date, and we’ll let you know as soon as we do.

All Kickstarter backers of the game will also receive a free copy of the Switch version of the game in addition to the Steam keys they’ve already received.

All backers will be receiving a key for a free Nintendo Switch copy in addition to the Steam copy you already have.We want to apologize for the long delays by offering you all something as a token of our gratitude for your patience and support, and the Switch port is what we’ve been hard at work on this whole time. To receive your Nintendo Switch key, forward a copy of your Kickstarter pledge confirmation to contact@chucklefish.org and specify the region you’ll need a key for.

It’s been a long time coming for Cardboard Robot Games, with many beginning to suspect that the game might never actually come to Switch. But if what they’re saying is true, and the game really does release in the next two months, we’ll find out very soon if the incredibly lengthy wait was worth it.

While you wait in the meantime, why not check out the trailer for the game below? It was uploaded to YouTube on the 1st of March — before the Switch even released!
