There’s been Nintendo Switch events all around the world but you’ve had to be either media or lucky enough to get in on a ticket. Now with the Switch so close it’s at the ‘playable in shops’ phase.

This weekend at Westfield Chatswood in Sydney, the Nintendo Switch will be playable for anyone who wants to just rock up. This Switch demo was spotted by Redditor TimAus being set up this morning and should be now up and running. Can’t get there today? Don’t worry its on tomorrow as well.

We’ll follow up with Nintendo to find out if it’s going to be anywhere else in the future.

Nice. It’ll be pretty embarrassing if 1-2 Switch is the only demo they have on offer though.

Unless they have Super Mario Odyssey, I’ll give these demos a miss. I dont want to ruin the feeling of playing BotW for the first time on my own Switch.

Any chance it might be there on Monday?

Or might it be at another location? Here’s hoping Parramatta makes the cut!

Was just 1 2 Switch and Arms. Everyone was able to play 2 best of 3 matches on Arms and 4 different 1 2 Switch games.

First experience with the Switch, it felt amazing and going from dock to handheld is easier than you can imagine. Joy-cons felt great too (was worried they would feel small)

Arms was better than expected. I lost my first fight as I was just swinging wildly. Second match I used a lot more strategy with evading and jumping. Had no intention of getting this but am interested in it now.

On 1 2 Switch we had a couple of plays on Ball Count, Milk, Samurai and Stand Off. All did a great job of showing off the HD Rumble. Again the HD Rumble was much better than expected and I can see it being used in really interesting ways in future games. Milk was hilarious and Samurai was fun as well. Stand Off and Ball count were also cool but not as fun.

I have no intention of buying 1 2 Switch. Would have loved if it came packed with the red and blue joy cons similar to Wii Play at the Wii launch. Will be a miss for me as I can’t justify the price point.

Was hoping to see Zelda there, but in hindsight I am glad I will be able to first experience it for myself on March 3rd with a 6 hour session rather than 6 minutes.
