Phoenix Wright WiiWare dated for US, looks terrible
Capcom has taken the lid off Phoenixs first WiiWare appearance with the game being essentially a Gameboy Advance port
Famitsu might have showed it off yesterday, but Capcom has today revealed more details and media on the newly announced Phoenix Wright for WiiWare. A release date for the US was also given and itll be heading there early next year in January. No PAL date as of yet.
The bad news is that the game is essentially a port of the original Gameboy Advance releases with the games visual assets blown up to nearly full screen. That means the nice art on the GBA/DS screens will essentially stretched to TV-sized resolutions and a border of blue with the Phoenix Wright logo slapped on to fill in the background.
The game also lacks point controls so youll have to do everything via the D-Pad on the Wii Remote. Yes, everything. The only controls come from the ability to object by swinging the remote as if you were doing the Object action. All in all its a pretty lazy port considering high resolution art already exists from the PC port of the game that was released in Japan.
Its not just the first game hitting the WiiWare store but each game in the series (Ace Attorney, Justice for All and Trials and Tribulations). Each of the games will set you back 1000 Wii Points. You can find some artwork and screens below.
