The last ace in a lost hand

Persona 5 Scramble — the Musou spin-off Persona game that nobody asked for but we’re getting anyway — finally has a release date… in Japan.

Atlus released a new trailer today for Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, showing off a wide range of in-game activities. Unlike previous Warriors-style games, like Fire Emblem Warriors and Hyrule Warriors, Persona 5 Scramble looks to be a lot more like a traditional Persona game, with an in-game calendar, side activities, and a whole lot more. With an in-depth story, a few new characters, and a lot of familiar faces, Persona 5 Scramble brings the stylish world of Persona 5 to the fast-paced hack-and-slash gameplay of Musou (aka Warriors) games. It looks incredible.

It’s set 6 months after the events of Persona 5, and features an all new story in which the Phantom Thieves get caught up in new mysteries during their Summer vacation. It also has anime cutscenes, if you’re into that (and I am).

Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers launches on the Switch in Japan on the 20th of February 2020. Its Western release date is not yet known, but we expect it to hit before the end of next year. It’s not the Persona 5 that everyone asked for, but it sure does look great nonetheless.
