You against the machine.

Another “battle royale” bites the dust as Nintendo has announced that Pac-Man 99’s online modes be turned off on October 8th, 2023.

You’ll still be able to play the game against the CPU and play the other score attack modes but the reason it exists will stop being playable. The DLC that was sold for the game will continue to work as well. This is the shutdown plan.

  • August 8th 2023 – Paid Custom Themes will no longer be available to buy as DLC
  • September 8th 2023 – The Mode Unlock and Deluxe Pack DLC will no longer be available to buy
  • October 8th 2023 – End of service

Users who purchase the Mode Unlock or Deluxe Pack DLC before September 8th 2023 will still be able to enjoy all offline modes (CPU BattleScore Attack and Blind Time Attack) after the end of service, as well as any Custom Themes they have purchased. This DLC is available to all Nintendo Switch users, regardless of Nintendo Switch Online membership status.

Pac-Man 99 is a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber game, hopefully, something gets announced to replace it in the package soon.
