Several Nintendo games fill out the top ten best selling games of June
Thanks to a press release from Nintendo of America, we have learnt that that the company sold 548,000 units of Super Mario Galaxy 2 in the month of June, bringing its nationwide sales to 1.1 million.
In addition, six Nintendo titles cracked the top selling list for June. See below for a list.

2. Super Mario Galaxy – 548,000 units sold

Nintendo systems also accounted for 50 percent of the hardware units sold in the United States for the month of June, with 933,000 units. Of these units, 510,000 came from DS sales, bringing the life-time sales of the handheld to nearly 42 million, and showing that sales for the system are not slowing down, despite the announcement of the 3DS. The remainder of the hardware sales, the Wii units, totalled 422,000 bringing its total to 30 million units, sold in the US alone.
Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing, praised the sales and then further promised “a remarkable lineup of new games in the second half of the year”. This is obviously alluding to upcoming Wii titles in Metroid: Other M, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Mario Sports Mix and the many other titles that were announced at E3.
