Older Nintendo 3DS retail titles coming to the Japanese eShop

Nothing to go 'out of print' again.

Nintendo Japan has posted two ‘chotto’ or Mini Nintendo Direct episodes this morning, the first was about three new Nintendo 3DS XL bundles and the other was announcing that older retail Nintendo 3DS games will be coming to the eShop.

From Novembers 1st, Nintendo will add Mario Tennis Open, Mario and Sonic and the Olympic Games, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Pop-Up Album, Starfox 64 3D, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and Pilotwings Resort.

There are more titles coming at a later date too. There will also be a tool released for transferring saves from the cartridge version of the above games to your SD card for these downloadable titles.

Remember in Japan Nintendo not only sell point cards to for eShop credit but sell these games as downloadable cards. This means Nintendo can have these games in stock without having to actually manufacture all these games once they go ‘out of print’.
