Expect to see it in next quarter's earnings report
Octopath Traveler, the retro-inspired RPG from Square Enix, released last month to critical acclaim across the world. Today, it was announced that the game has hit a major milestone.
Nintendo revealed on Twitter today that Octopath Traveler has shipped over 1 million copies of the game worldwide. The 2D-HD game developed by Square Enix and published by Nintendo has been a hit, with copies in Japan selling out week after week since launch and fans expressing their love for the game on Twitter, Facebook, and even our own Discord server, so it’s no surprise it hit the magical one million so quickly.
Our own review was similarly positive, with the game receiving a respectable 4.5/5, where we praised it for its beautiful visuals, robust mechanics, and utterly fantastic soundtrack. You can read our full review for the game by clicking here, or get a taste for it with the excerpt below.
Octopath Traveler has some quirks. Its storytelling is a little underdeveloped, and its progression is a little unusual. But where it lacks in some areas, it more than makes up for in others, with its mechanical systems some of the best seen in the genre in years. It’s a long game, and it will require a lot of attention, but if you have the time and attention to give it a fair go, you won’t walk away disappointed.
It's Black, Back Again.
If these aren't the coolest graphics...
