You knew the other shoe was going to drop at some point. It’s been revealed that the upcoming Wii U version of Splinter Cell: Blacklist will not have offline co-operative play, it will however still have online co-op.
News of the move comes from a new interview with games developers Ubisoft Shanghai. Producer on the game Liu Jun says that “In order to ship at the same time as the other consoles, we unfortunately weren’t able to delve into this feature, but we think Nintendo gamers will be really excited to get the game at the same time as other consoles.”
Other than this strange omission the Wii U version of the game will be exactly the same as the other versions. All of the DLC will be there, all multiplayer chat and gameplay modes are there. This move comes a week after Warner Bros. revealed that Batman: Arkham Origins won’t have online multiplayer in that game.
Weird times afoot with third party Wii U games, may this be the last footwear to fall.
