Although a Wii edition of Dementium would be fantastic, it seems unlikely

In a recent interview with Pure Nintendo, Jools Watsham, the Co-Creator and Art Director of Renegade Kid, has expressed his interest in a Wii version of the developer’s flagship series, Dementium.

"We would develop Dementium for the Wii, if someone gives us the money," says Mr. Watsham, jovially. "We took Dementium: The Ward and added on high-resolution textures and lighting. It looked great."

A Wii version of one of the DS’s most critically acclaimed horror series may sound like a fantastic idea, but even Mr. Watsham has conceded that the Wii’s target audience may not be as embracing. "The market is just not there for M-rated games," says Mr. Watsham. "We did pitch it to Gamecock when we finished with Dementium: The Ward. No, it’s not going to happen."

All is not lost for Dementium fans however, Dementium II is scheduled to be released within the coming months. The full interview with Jools Watsham, which discusses mature gaming on the Wii in more depth, is available here.
