Nintendo is putting smiles on many peoples faces by offering brand new entertainment that anyone can enjoy, regardless of age, gender or gaming experience. Thats what they told us, anyway.

Get ready for some PR speak. ‘Nintendo’s strategy is to accelerate current sales momentum from ’must-have for every family’ to ’must-have for everyone.’’ That’s the DS, anyway. I think it means that they’ve already put one DS in every household, so now they have to put two in every household.

The Wii? That is ‘a machine that puts smiles on surrounding people’s face’s while encouraging communication among family members in the living room and offering enjoyment of their ’new life with Wii.’’ That translates to word of mouth carrying the Wii’s business. Expect Nintendo to continue to engineer family fun – which you can tell your mum about.

You too can look this happy.

Wow! I think that’s a whole press release from one of the Big 3 without trash-talking any of the oth… Oh, wait, sorry. ‘In the challenging and competitive gaming industry, which consistently requires new and innovative products, Nintendo will strive to expand its business and increase revenue and profit by capitalizing on being the only hardware platform producer with powerful in-house software development teams.’

This is all in Nintendo’s grand plan, which is ‘Gamer Population Expansion.’ Nintendo have done very well off this strategy so far, and don’t expect them to back off. What’s good for them now will be even better for them in the future.

Can you imagine a world where as many people had a Wii as they did a computer?
