Nintendos mysterious unannounced motorcycle Wii game unearthed
Controlling a motorbike with the balance board, sure why not
We’re no strangers to seeing all kinds of unreleased concepts from Nintendo, but this one is a little bit more interesting. A recently filed patent sees Nintendo’s branch, Nintendo Software Technology (the guys behind the also-unreleased Project H.A.M.M.E.R. and Mario vs. Donkey Kong games) having created what appears to be a motorcycling game designed for use with the Wii Balance Board peripheral.
Recently released illustrations suggest that the game could be played with either a Wii Remote or a Nunchuk too, with the tilting of the remote being responsible for the steering of the bike, while tilting on the (optional) Wii Balance Board would be used to make sharp turns on the race track. The illustrations suggest that such a concept was being used for both a Jet Ski and Motorcycling game, although no names or announcements have been made. Nintendo even had plans to incorporate ramps and jumps, including a nifty sounding system that meant players would have to distribute their weight properly to land gracefully.
It’s worth noting, however, that such a project has never been announced, nor will we know if it ever will. Still, if anything develops, we’ll let you be the first to know.
