Nintendo’s Majora’s Mask teasing intensifies

While never commenting on it officially Nintendo and its staff have been teasing the possibility of something Majora’s Mask related for nearly a year now.

This teasing continues in 2014 with a new interview in the latest issue of Game Informer. In it’s afterwords section the magazine sits down for a chat with game director Hiromasa Shikata. They do a post-mortem on the game and toward the end of the interview ask about the Majora’s Mask hanging on the wall in Link’s house in the game. Some slight spoilers may follow.

Shikata: [Having Majora’s Mask in Link’s House] was a special request from Aonuma’s productions team. Now why would they ask us to do that?[/quote]

Eiji Aonuma and his team are of course working on the upcoming and yet unnamed Wii U Zelda title. Could this new title have a connection to Majora’s Mask or could we be seeing a remake ala Ocarina of Time of on the Nintendo 3DS this year?
