The gaming giant has reported sales of 1.83 trillion yen, up 9% from the previous year. That’s over 24 billion Australian dollars. Operating profits are up 14% this year, bringing it to over 555 billion yen.
Recession? What recession?
The games aren’t quite in the billions, but still very impressive! On the DS, we have Pokemon Platinum at 3.75 million copies sold, Kirby Super Star Ultra at 2.36 million, and Brain Training 1 and 2 combined sales reaching 7.31 million with 31.13 million lifetime sales. The Wii rolls in some more millions, with Mario Kart at 15.4 million, Animal Crossing: Let’s Go to the City (City Folk outside PAL regions) at 3.38 million, Wii Music at 2.65 million, and Wii Fit at 16.37 million with lifetime sales reaching 18.22 million. Lifetime sales of the DS have reached 101.78 million, with this year’s 31.18 million units sold, thrashing the Wii at 50.39 million total sales, and 25.95 million this year.
Because Nintendo love their millions, they’re predicting sales of 26 million Wii and 30 million DS units for the fiscal year starting April 1st, 2009.
It's Black, Back Again.
