IGN have brought back their “”Nintendo minute”” feature – and NOA’s vice president of corporate affairs, Denise Kaigler, has stepped up to the plate to answer a question many fans have been wondering. With the drop in price of the Xbox 360 and the “”new Xbox Experience”” should Nintendo be worried about them going after a ‘slice of the casual pie’?””I would defer that question to consumers since they are the ones who decide which video game systems are best for them and their families.”” Says Kaigler. More inside “”However, I will say that it is truly humbling to see so many new consumers responding so strongly to our products. We remain absolutely certain that Nintendo is offering the right products at the right time, and those products appeal to the broadest base of consumers this industry has ever seen.””
She goes on… and on… and on once or twice more, so we recommend you read the full article.

She finishes, noting “”For consumers, Wii offers a symphony of appealing features, and price is just one note.”” So to answer the question, it sounds like they’re pretty confident in the Wii’s casual-magnet.
