Nintendo has won another court case against two R4 flashcart sellers based in Tokyo. Along with Konami, Bandai Namco, Capcom and roughly 50 others, Nintendo will receive their share of nearly $USD 1 million compensation.
The R4 flashcarts are infamously known for their use in playing illegal ROMS, but are also defended for their ability to run homebrew software and games.
This news is just the latest in a long run of Nintendo eradicating flashcart use, with the cartridges being banned to import into Japan last year, and illegal to import, advertise or sell in the UK back in 2010. Nintendo have also maintained a lockdown with the 3DS, with the consistent firmware updates certainly helping.
