Nintendo Wii outsells Playstation 3, 3:1 in 2007
According to market researchers Enterbrain Inc, Nintendo Japan have sold three times as many Wii machines in Japan last year ALONE as the Playstation 3. According to a faxed statement from Enterbrain, Nintendo have sold approximately 3.63 million Wii units last year, which is a much greater number than the Playstation 3’s 1.21 million sold. Another interesting figure to add to the mix from Enterbrain’s estimations is the Xbox 360’s yearly figures, which sold an embarrassingly low 257,841 units. More inside Sony haven’t sat back and watched the problem grow, however, as in October, Sony surprised gamers around the world by announcing a price cut in all Japanese consoles by as much as 10 percent. In November, they also announced a newer much cheaper model of the PS3 to compete with the Wii. The Playstation outsold the Wii for the first time in Japan between October 29th and November 25th, Enterbrain reports.
