My Nintendo also launches on March 31st, web eShop later for Aussies
Along with the announcement of the Miitomo release date, the date for My Nintendo is also been set for March 31st. It’s a chicken and egg type situation anyway, without My Nintendo, Miitomo won’t run and vice versa. To learn more about My Nintendo check out our article, we got in early on the Japanese version of the site and ours will be very much the same.
Remember if you sign up before the end of April for a Nintendo Account you’ll get a free copy of Flipnote Studio 3D for your Nintendo 3DS for free.
You must sign up for your free Nintendo Account on My Nintendo and link your Nintendo Network ID to get it.
As for the web based eShop, well the store is launching in other regions and would allow you to purchase and browse the eShop from your computer, smartphone or tablet. You’ll then be able to set the game you’ve just purchased to be downloaded and installed ready for you when you get home. You’ll also earn more My Nintendo points buying games digitally.
We’re just not getting in Australia or New Zealand at launch. It was hiding Nintendo’s FAQ for Nintendo Account all along and last night’s press release didn’t mention it at all. We’ll endeavour to find out when exactly it is coming.
I hope this is the beginning of eshop purchases being linked to an account and not a console!! It would make downloading previously bought software to a new console a breeze.
A web based Eshop sounds amazing!! I am keen!
